(CNSNews.com) - President Trump on Tuesday said he would never cutting off assist to Israel, every bit Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has suggested.
"And I can't fifty-fifty believe that nosotros're having this conversation," Trump told reporters.
"Where has the Democratic Party gone?" Trump asked, noting that Democrats accept dedicated Muslim Reps. Omar and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) despite their condemnation of Israel.
"Where accept they gone where they're defending these people over the land of Israel? And I think whatsoever Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of cognition or bully disloyalty," Trump said.
At a news briefing on Monday, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) questioned whether State of israel was an ally of the United states, and she said Congress should link aid to Israel to Israel ensuring "full rights for Palestinians."
At the same news conference, Rep. Rashida Tlaib on Monday bemoaned the "Palestinian people's plight" and the "pain of (Israeli) oppression." Israel ultimately granted Tlaib permission to travel to the W Bank to visit her elderly grandmother, but she decided not to brand the trip considering doing so on Israel's "humiliating" terms "would kill a piece of me."
Sen. Bernie Sanders was among those reacting to President Trump's annotate on Tuesday:
"Permit me say this to the president: I am a proud Jewish person and I have no concerns about voting Autonomous. And in fact, I intend to vote for a Jewish man to get the next president of the United States," Sanders said, and then after tweeted, on Tuesday.
Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) told CNN that Trump's comments were "outrageous," "offensive," and "dangerous." Deutch said the president needs to stop using the rhetoric of "divided loyalty," something that he said "fuels white nationalists."
The American Jewish Committee issued a statement condemning the president's remarks as "shockingly divisive and unbecoming of the occupant of the highest elected office."
AJC said, "American Jews – like all Americans – have a range of political views and policy priorities. His cess of their knowledge or 'loyalty,' based on their party preference, is inappropriate, unwelcome, and downright dangerous."
During the Q&A with reporters on Tuesday, Trump was asked if there should exist any change in aid to State of israel.
Hither is his full response:
No. And you should encounter the horrible things that Tlaib has said about Israel. And AOC plus three. That's what I call it. AOC--just take AOC plus three. And y'all should see the things that the four of them have said about Israel over the last couple of years.
I mean, Omar is a disaster for Jewish people. I tin can't imagine if she has whatever Jewish people in her district that they could mayhap vote for her. Only, what Omar has said, what Tlaib has said.
And and so yesterday, I noticed for the first time Tlaib with the tears. All of a sudden, she starts with tears. Tears. And I don't purchase it. I don't buy it. I don't purchase it for a second, considering I've seen her in a very fell mood at campaign rallies. My campaign rallies. Before she was a congresswoman. I said, who is that? And I saw a woman that was tearing and vicious and out of control.
And all of a sudden, I see this person who'southward crying considering she can't see her grandmother. She could meet her grandmother. They gave her permission to come across her grandmother, but she grandstanded and she didn't want to exercise information technology.
So, that's the decision of Israel. That's not a--a lot of people are saying that was my decision. That's a decision of--of Israel. They can let them in if they want, only I don't think they want to.
When you lot read the things that they've said virtually Israel, how bad. And if you expect at their itinerary before they institute out--you take a look at their itinerary. That was all going to be a propaganda bout against Israel. So, I don't blame State of israel for doing what they do it. I have nothing to do with it, but I don't arraign them for doing what they did.
I think it would've been very bad to let them in, including the four. I'chiliad talking about all four. Just, these two that desire to go in, Omar and Tlaib. And I think it would be a very bad thing for Israel, but State of israel has to do what they want to exercise.
But, I would not cut off aid to State of israel. And I can't even believe that we're having this chat. Five years agone, the concept of even talking nearly this, even iii years ago of cut off help to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people. I can't believe we're even having this conversation.
Where has the Democratic Party gone? Where have they gone where they're defending these people over the israel? And I think any Jewish people that vote for a democrat, I recollect it shows either a total lack of knowledge or slap-up disloyalty.
